Captain Deadbeard can also instant-kill Night Caps using the Spyglass Shot, but it is recommended to only do this from afar.Īlthough Fung Fu is extremely annoying, you can escape it. Scientists can Warp around to dodge the Night Cap's attacks. Soldiers can also use their ZPGs to do damage, as they deal splash damage. If the Night Cap uses Shadow Sneak to try to escape, the Soldier's Stink Cloud could be useful to potentially hurt the Night Cap and maybe even confuse it. Night Cap only lasts two hits with the Snack Attack melee so it is also fairly easy to punch her to death if you ever find yourself in punching range.Įngineer's splash damage can take her down fairly easily, especially when combined with Heavy Helper to let him fire very quickly. Overheated Dinner can also instant-kill her. Even more easily when running the Zero Chill upgrade. It is highly recommended to use TV Head thanks to his Yeti, Set, GO! ability being able to instant kill the Night Cap very easily. Night Cap is small and jumpy, so splash attacks are the best way to deal with her. Night Cap's somewhat high DPS can also make her a great defender at close quarters, or can be used to quickly destroy Super Brainz's Alpha Better Shield. While inside Casting Shadows, enemies are vulnerable to Peashooter's Chili Bean Bomb, Oak's Roll for Damage and Super Sap Trap, Acorn's Sap Trap, or any other form of damage. Casting Shadows can also be used to trap Zombies within it, allowing for an easy vanquish with Fung Fu. Use Casting Shadows to help your team revive fallen allies without being seen, or to help you capture a zone. If it is currently unavailable, quickly sprint away and jump around, so your opponents can't hit you, as you are a small, moving target. If you lose too much health, use Shadow Sneak to retreat. Against large groups, Spore Strike can go through multiple enemies, hitting them all at once, although this is niche. Use Shadow Sneak to get in near an enemy, then take them down quickly by using Spore Strike, or go for a fast close-ranged kill with Fung Fu. Night Cap excels at stealth and mobility. Use Shadow Sneak for 1,000 feet as a Night Cap. BKFC leads the way in creating a new recognized professional combat sport while respecting its remarkable past. Few series achieve such a perfect balance of mainstream entertainment and gut wrenching drama and tragedy. There is a great deal of tragedy and some moments are even frightening and memorable. And yet, for a mainstream series, it manages to continually surprise with a very mature and serious tone. These are all common staples of long running anime series that lean towards a more commercial and public appeal. It is very much a mainstream series, with the appeal of a huge cast of unique characters, action that commonly involves special powers, a fairly straight forward story with some mostly obvious symbolism, and a mix of comedy, action, drama, and even some romance. Combine this with its fantastic storylines, incredible villains, and high-octane action scenes, and there's a very strong argument to be made for it being one of the best anime series of all time, if not the very best.Fullmetal Alchemist is, in a way, unique. For this last reason alone, many feel that Dragon Ball is one of the most important anime series ever made. Even so, the franchise has still managed to remain hugely popular both in Japan and in the West.Īt its very best, there aren't many anime series that can come close to matching Dragon Ball in terms of entertainment, nor can many claim to have had such an emphatic impact when it comes to the popularization of anime in the West. Likewise, it would be foolish to try and argue that every arc or episode of Dragon Ball has been of the highest quality. Granted, there were some dark periods during that time such as the 18-year window between the end of Dragon Ball Z and the beginning of Dragon Ball Super. When it comes to longevity, few IPs can compete with Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, which has managed to remain popular for almost four decades now. Ranking the best anime is obviously highly subjective, too, though there are certain series that are undeniably excellent and have had a profound impact on the medium as a whole either by inspiring other anime creators or by helping to attract new people to the wider anime fandom. With such a large number to choose from and almost as many "Top 10 Best Anime" lists popping up online, those looking for the best anime might have to do quite a bit of digging. That said, the unprecedented level of choice given to viewers these days can have a few drawbacks, most notably when it comes to finding the best anime series of all time. Updated May 24, 2023, by Tom Bowen: There's never been a better time to be an anime fan, with a near-endless supply of series available with just the push of a few buttons. The very best anime series of all time will always be worth watching though and have helped to inspire countless others in the years since making their debuts. RELATED: The Strongest Anime Characters of All TimeĪt this point, however, the seemingly unlimited supply of anime can feel a little overwhelming at times, with more and more series being introduced with each new anime season. This includes classic anime series as well, many of which were never broadcast in the West despite their overwhelming popularity in Japan. The popularity of anime has exploded in the West in recent years, with streaming services like Crunchyroll and Netflix having helped to introduce viewers to some of the many great hidden gems that the medium has to offer. Almost everyone in the movie is either a placid Tibetan monk or a mean Chinese general. But the bigger problem - assuming that you're interested enough to watch a film about 20th-century Tibetan history in the first place - is that the characters are unengaging and rather two-dimensional. The lack of stars was widely blamed for condemning Kundun to box-office ignominy. Instead, it tells the story through a cast of exiled Tibetans. Unlike Seven Years in Tibet - released around the same time, and starring the peroxided Brad Pitt as a Nazi fugitive who forms an unlikely friendship with the young Dalai Lama - Kundun does not provide western audiences with a cypher character. No mean Chinese generals here, only monks. On its release, Kundun prompted a predictable fit of pique and banning on the part of the Chinese government. Scorsese's support for Tibetan independence is certainly a defensible political position, but his exclusion of any real sense of the Chinese case makes the events shown here rather baffling. What the film doesn't mention is that Tibet was invaded by a British expedition in 1904, made a treaty with Britain two years later that prompted the war of 1910 with China, and allowed British agents to remain on its territory until the 1940s. This seems like a wild claim, unless you read a lot into the Dalai Lama's appeal to the US, Britain and India. The Chinese turn up, insisting that Tibet has been under the jackboot of imperialism and that they are its liberators. (In fact, it was granted in 1947.) Controversy Which would be a flimsy reason at the best of times, but a very odd one to give in 1945, when India was still part of the British empire and independence was widely thought to be a very long way off. Not India, they warn, as it is "a newly independent nation". In a scene set in 1945, the Dalai Lama asks his advisers whether he should appeal to foreign powers such as the US, Britain or India. But the Chinese revolution is under way and things are looking wobbly for Tibet. To his family's amazement, the boy - now known as Tenzin Gyatso - is announced as the 14th Dalai Lama. |
